We went to a u-pick farm this past weekend. Half a mile...right down the road. I've been The girls have been craving some strawberries for days now, so we agreed to go pick some. *smile*
The fields were beautiful. I've always loved the symmetry of strawberry fields and how the berries just pop through all of the greenery. So amazing!!! I might have...just a smidgen...been just a little more excited than everyone else to be there.
Daddy gave a quick like lesson on how to pick the RED berries....and just the red ones.
Savannah jumped right in and filled her bucket up quickly. She was so excited about picking those berries. We'd hear, "Daddy look!!!" or "WOW!!!" It was so precious!
Hope. Well, she was perfectly content with sticking by my side and helping me. She did not like the fact that the bugs were all over the plants. Nope, not one bit.
And then there's my goofball of a husband for ya.
An hour later, we came home with almost eleven pounds of strawberries. What's a girl to do with that many berries??? Eat till her heart's content Make homemade jam of course!!!
We have plans to go back. Six jars of jam is definitely NOT going to last long us long.
I'm talking, it's eat it straight out of the jar good yall!
Till next time...
JEALOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Kristen Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteOh what a beautiful share this morning. I love seeing the strawberry fields. How gorgeous they are, and how fun to actually be able to go in and pick your own berries.
You had me at strawberry jam. I love strawberry jam. I too could just sit, and eat it right out of the jar. I loved Grandma's jam, oh how I miss her. Would you be willing to share your recipe? I have never made any but would love to give it a try.
Thank you again sweet friend for sharing. I loved this one. Have a beautiful day. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
We have been wanting to get to a u-pick farm around here! I think it would be a blast! I have a friend that recently came home with 16 pounds - I think we would also come home with a lot! Too bad I can't come over to your house for jam :)
