When the girls were in the NICU, we began using a certain type of bottle that would help them with learning how to breathe and eat at the same time. That was one of the things that was holding them back for so long. We had to buy the expensive Dr. Browns bottles because their bottles specialized in "natural flow" which is what we apparently wanted.
Oh NO!!!
Moma FAILED big time with this grand idea. My poor babies ended up with a bad case of gassy bellies and I was in tears. I should've known not to change things up on my preemie little angels. It was all my fault that they were so miserable. They were up all night and couldn't get comfortable because of me.
I definitely learned my lesson with this experience. If something's not broke, don't go fix'n it.

Oh you poor thing, that is definitely not a fun place to be. Don't beat yourself up too much. Motherhood is SO MUCH trial and error.

Don't be too hard on yourself. When they get bigger you will be able to use those Playtex ones just fine. I also used Dr. Browns with my twin boys and they did great, but after the 7-8 month mark it didn't matter which bottle we used.
ReplyDeleteThat's awful. But things will get better. Don't be too hard on yourself. And when the twins get older, maybe you can attend MOPS. It's a great place for mommies with babies, toddlers and preschoolers.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention, Gripe Water was wonderful when my fella had a gurgly tummy.
