Charles Towne Landing

It's always a nice thing to have something in common with the one(s) you love. I'm so happy that Mike and I share and enjoy exploring old settlements and historical sites like this one.

We were surprised when we found out that it was only 20-30 minutes away from us....and oh Lordy!!! Its it beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was the perfect excuse to get the girls out and about to try out their new stroller (which we LOVE by the way).

The park had an animal area. Animals that were indigenous to this area back in the day. Those bison could have eaten us...they were HUGE!!!!!!!!!!

I'll share my turkey calling story another time..maybe around Thanksgiving. Let me just say though, it impressed my husband and the girls were all wide-eyed. *giggle*

The area was just breath taking though. It amazes me that there is so much beauty in the simple things in life. Gardens in bloom, rows of "OLDE" oak trees...like 300 years old, saw grass on the water beds, fountains...it's just AWH-mazing!!!!

This boat is supposed to be a replica of what they founders of Charles Towne sailed in on. It was actually built in Maine and sailed down to South Carolina in 2008. Pretty cool huh?

And when all else fails or no one is around to take Moma and Daddy's picture...do it yourself. Right?

We had so much fun walking around this old settlement. Next on our list is the Boone Hill Plantation in Mt. Pleasant. YAY!!!!

  1. Good Morning Kristen Sweetie...
Oh my gosh do they ever have the cutest little baby faces? I love it. Love their new stroller too, how wonderful to be able to have them side by side to entertain each other as you all stroll along.

Lovely outing, I so enjoyed myself. I love the bison, and I can't wait to hear about this turkey call. You have me SO intriqued.

The oak trees are just heavenly and I am so excited you shared the boat. Can you imagine being one of the settlers on the boat just like this? Just to look at a replica is SO awesome. I thank you for the beautiful share sweetie.

I had such a wonderful visit today, and your Fall decorations look gorgeous. I've been reading through a little. I try to see each and every post, but sometimes I get a little behind. Again thanks for the shares. Many hugs to you and the sweeties. Love, Sherry
