Wintery Mantel Decor

With Christmas come and gone, the house has been emptied of all snowmen and reindeer. The tree was pulled down right away as well as the greenery that covered the white mantel piece.
I've been in a blue mood this wintery season...not a down mood but blue in color. For some reason, the light coastal blue has satisfied my craving for winter colors.

So here is my mantel now. My husband's not home at the moment so the hangars are still in the wall...my short little self can't reach them. *smile* But despite that little set back...
ta DA!

I pretty new to mantel decor. I definitely didn't graduate from interior design school so when it comes to piecing stuff together...I'm not the best. But I try.

Here's the break down though. The center mirror is one I've had forever. It used to sit on my vanity when I lived at home. I love it! I emptied the bottles from Christmas and placed them back up there. The seashell sign was pulled from the bathroom wall because of the blue accents.

I got the blue green pitcher from a random trip to Goodwill.
I have a growing collection of bibles here lately. I love the way they look stacked up like I have them. Especially with the vase sitting on top. I even have my Grandmother's bible in there. Sweet huh?

Here's a little side view.

I knew when I went to put my winter mantel together that I didn't want to spend any extra money on it, frankly because we don't have extra. I was sure that I could pull some pieces from through out the house and create a calm and seasonal set up. And I did.
