Maryland Vacation Part 2

If you missed part 1 of our vacation, just click right...HERE.

We had a whole week to spend up in Maryland. Most of the time, the girls were running around being silly in the backyard. Growing up and learning about being kids.

Just like I used to do when I was little. They were everywhere and going so fast we could hardly keep up. At the end of the day, we were more exhausted than they were...and they, on most of the days, crashed at bedtime.

We took them to the zoo that was right down the road. I was really impressed with it's size since it was a small local zoo. They even had a giraffe that I failed to take a picture of...big fail, I know.

We hauled the girls around in a wagon until they insisted on walking. Everything was "ooh!" and "WOW!"

Savannah was amazed by the owl. She's in love with birds right now while her sister is ga-ga over fish. She kept "hoo-hooing" at it and even got her Daddy in on the fun.

Hope impressed me big time that day. My "used to be the shy one and scared of everything" little girl fed the deer like a big girl. She thought that was so neat...looking up at me after each time with the biggest grin like she was checking to see if I was proud of her..which I was very much so. Savannah didn't want to try and was a little bit scared of them.

So I grabbed her and showed her how sweet they were. She still wasn't impressed too much.

We stopped by all of the animals, but the Billy Goat was the funniest. He had so much character and was all about the food. I was laughing nonstop at him. And this picture really makes me laugh because it looks like he's eating Savannah's hair. *smile*

And for note, you learn something new everyday.
Mike thought this was pretty funny.

We really wanted to get a family picture but the girls weren't too keen on that idea (like always!) so we took advantage of the opp and got one of us. I love it!

My favorite part of the zoo was the fact that it was based at an old farm house. The old barn and mill were still there tucked back in the trees

It was so pretty with the trees starting to change around it and the rustic character was peeking through the leaves. Almost breath-taking. I'm a sucker for old homesteads such as this.

.

The zoo day was amazing. Watching the girls have so much fun looking at the animals, listening to their animal sounds, and watching their feet pitter patter around the rocky paths was priceless.

And there's more...a whole day up in Pennsylvania in the old antique shops. So come back and see...

Life Made Lovely

  1. Aw, such luvs... Their precious profiles made me want to scoop them up and just love on 'em.

What a cool zoo! We don't have anything like that here. We have a big local zoo, but everything is new-ish, without any historical feel to it (at least in my opinion).
