Maryland Vacation Part 3: Pennsylvania

Ok...I know that this whole vacation thing seems like it's never gonna end...but don't worry. This is the last of the pictures. I warned you that there were a lot. I just wanted to make sure I shared them...ALL. *smile* So, enjoy!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A trip up north, in any sense of the word, isn't nearly complete without a day of antiquing. For me at least that is. I love it.
When we decided that we'd spend a week up north, I knew that I wanted to spend one day up in Lancaster rummaging through the antique shops for goodies. One day...and guess what!?!? My dream came true.
Say HELLO!!!! Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
A true example of the amazing works of God's grace.
Amish farms that went on and on and on...and on. Rolling hills of corn and soybeans. Beautiful!
Some fields had stacks of tobacco for drying which I thought looked so neat. There were a lot of farms with the huge barns that had tobacco hanging to dry.
We stopped in a little tourist area first called The Kitchen Kettle Village. Got out and did tourist type things...like pose for silly pictures...
We ate some good tasting, probably not the healthiest for us, food.
HIS: Buffalo Chicken Sandwich
HERS: Mini Turkey Burgers
We went in and out of some shops in the village and I had to take a picture of this. The difference between a man and a woman. Women are persistent. *smile*
Awh...then we finally go to my favorite part of the trip. The part where the guys set me free to wonder the old. Old mill basements, old mill attics...the antiques were floor to ceiling in these places and I was in AWE!
You see this picture? It's the basement of an old grain mill. The air in that room is so vintage. It screams "welcome to the old time." Seriously filled with so much character. I didn't want to leave.
My Moma and Daddy have a table like this in their house. I thought it was neat to find one so similar. Maybe one day it'll be passed down to me...hint hint. I once thought it was a shoe fixin' table, but I think I saw one online the other day listed as a phone bench. Makes sense.
Mike saw this Pot Chair and busted out in laughter. It is pretty funny. I guess ya gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes.  Don't worry, he washed his hands. *smile*
I had a blast. I wish I could have bought it all...I really wanted to. I'd like to say thank you to Mike's Mom Mom and Pop Pop for gifting us this trip. Without them it wouldn't have been nearly as fun.
I came home with these goodies...
* Railroad lantern $6
* Napkins $2 each
* Old Milk crate $28
* Scale $16
* Yard Sticks $2 each
* Suitcase $25
I really didn't want to leave but I knew I had to get home to my girls after a whole day of being away from them. Come to find out, they didn't even know I was gone.
I think Pop Pa really enjoyed the visit...can you tell? I think the girls wore him out, poor Dakota too. They're pooped!
The time to come home came to quickly. I was grateful that the morning greeted us the day we were leaving. It was like it was saying farewell with an amazing sunrise.
 And before we knew it...we were on the road headed back to the South. Back to reality.
  1. Oh my goodness, I'm trying not to turn green with envy! I've always wanted to travel around back there, poking my head into some of those old building and shops. What a fun time you must have had with each other! I'm glad you were able to take some time away, just you big people. ;)
