Happy Valentines Day

It's Valentines Day people! I'm so excited!!!

Yay!!

My husband told me this morning,
"It's so hard to leave you when you're so dressed up."
Ha!
Me in my pj's, over sized sweatshirt, slippers, and a hair-do that only dreams can style up.

That's love! He's my prince charming and I'm his, well, I'm his Princess Fiona. Beautiful by day, ogre by night. *smile*

Yesterday I We made chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels for a sweet valentines day treat for the family. We actually prefer this over cake or any other sweet delicacy. And plus, I {heart} strawberries!

The girls and I tried to work on some cards for Daddy before he got home. We didn't quite make it. He pretended not to see. He's such a sweetie. My girls aren't too interested in doing crafts right now. I'm not sure why, but they'd rather try to eat the crayons instead of using them to color. Leaves me baffled. So I went for some paint.

Some q-tips and dollops of paint and we had some serious works of art people. With my help of course.

I even made one for my man. I slipped it in his lunch box this morning before he stepped out the door. Oh, he'll be so surprised!!

Today, we'll pull out the little heart doilies they made on their birthday. We have MOPs this morning and so we'll take those to give out to their little friends there. Such an easy and fun and cheap activity.

Paint + Sparkles = Precious

The hubs and I agreed this year that we were going to buy some practical gifts for each other. We were both in need of some sunglasses so that was the item of choice. Romantic...I know. But hey, it works for us.

My glasses arrived yesterday and I am so loving them! As soon as I opened them, I sent him this silly picture to show my approval...

His response, "Oh, don't you look cool!" Well, when you have never had a nice pair of glasses and you finally get a pair...that can cause you to get excited and yall, this girl was ecstatic!!!!
I can't even tell when I'm wearing them. Maybe that's why the girls were looking at me so funny when they woke up. Hmmm? He's such a good hubby...buying me nice and practical things.

We may not be over the top romantic.
We may not splurge on roses or chocolates.
We may not buy silly cards that try to express our love for each other.

But that's because we know what we have.
We know what's important to each other and that to us, that stuff doesn't matter.
We know that we have a love that is steady and hearts that are full to the brim.

That's what Valentines Day is about to us. Tonight we'll sit down and eat our Valentines Day dinner with our Littles. Enjoy each others company and remain grateful for a hand to hold for years to come.

Enjoy your day!

  1. Happy Valentine's Day, crazy lady! Totally diggin' the new shades. They look awesome on you.

Looks like you have a great day planned with your family. Annnddd, you've already been working hard doing crafty, fun things. I'm a wee bit envious, we're trying to cram it all into one day.

  2. Happy Valentine's day Kristen Sweetie...
Oh my gosh, do you ever look cute in your glasses. Oh Girl,
I would so take a new pair of sun glasses myself over
chocolates any day. (Living here in the Phoenix desert, you
never want to leave home without your shades.)

I bet your DH was LOL when he received his picture and text
from you. That is SO darn cute.

Loved seeing the girls painting. Seems like just yesterday we
were blogging about them being born, and look at them now. WOW
    they grew fast.

Thanks for the precious share sweetie. Have a beautiful Valentine's
Day with the family. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
