Mending Fences

We've been so sick.

All of us.

Double, double ear infections, colds, fevers, coughing, runny noses, stuffy noses. We've had it all. I thought we were on the road to getting better last week but boy was I wrong.

Having the entire family sick all at once is a true test of will power and determination. I have learned so much about myself as a mother this week. A lesson I'm thankful for now that I can look back on it. We've learned how to mend fences and calm the storm of irritability and such.

We're still a bit on the stuffy side. The dry cough is still present and the girls get cranky on the snap, but we're doing much better.

The sunshine was gleaming through our hearts yesterday as we enjoyed the no-so-winterish weather we're having this ye ar. It was 82 yesterday.

82!!!
In February.

Hard to believe, but welcomed joyfully.

We did a little bit of yard cleanup and the girls frolicked around the yard chasing gusts of bubbles. All we heard was, " I got it! I got it!" They were so excited!! So, I'm thinking that we'll try to find a bubble machine this year to save my lungs.
Bubbles are so much fun!

Super Bowl Sunday wasn't such a big deal for us this year. We're not big fans of the Patriots and because the Giants are in the same division as the Eagles, we're kind of sort of not allowed to root for them. So, we just watched. Wings, fries, homemade queso, and carrots with ranch dressing. Typical football food.

I was thinking, can you imagine how many chicken wings were consumed yesterday?!? Oh my!
Here's a nice little tip for frying: Do it outside if you can. It keeps your house smelling pretty and leaves the fry-daddy smell outside. Plus, you get to enjoy the lovely scenery while doing so.

Sweet love on a beautiful Monday morning. I'm back. We're back.

And just because we've been missing for a whole week, here are some random shots from our week of sniffles.

Ok you guys, I must go.

  1. So sorry you've all been sick - that can be so hard! Praying that you continue to recover! Looks like you had a good weekend, despite the ick going around. 82?! Lovely!!! It was rainy here and made for a want-to-lay-on-the-couch all weekend kind of feel.

  3. Oh, dear. I'm so sorry. I was wondering if y'all were okay seeing as you hadn't been posting for a few days. It seems like it's hitting everyone hard this year! It looks like you've gotten a few smiles, anyway, even despite the crankiness.

You must be getting better if you were able to feast like that for the Super Bowl. ;)

I'm not a football or sports person, so we didn't even watch super bowl, I like that you were out there in the yard cooking, that's so cool!!

Ya imagine all the food, and the dips, that were consumed, haha funny to think about that! Tons of wings!
