Gratitude in Chaos

I like lists.

I like routines.

I like schedules.

I like balance.

Overall, I like to be in the know about all most things that happen during the day. That's how I've always been. I'm not super organized by nature but I do try to create a groove and path for everything. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. After the girls were born, I realized how much of a struggle it was going to be to create and keep a rhythmical balance. 

Over the past week, we've been dealt a hand that I'd rather not have to deal with. We found a leak in the foundation requiring immediate attention from local plumbers and our bank account. Moldy, wet , ruined carpets needing replaced. We had to make an abrupt trip to Florida after my sweet Grandmother went home to be with Jesus. 

After returning home, we now have plumbers in and out turning and fixing pipes, toddlers running a muck with cranky moods and fussy tantrums, zero naps, no water, and a prego Moma that needs to pee every 5 minutes. We also have to find affordable flooring to cover the concrete dining room floor and find the time to install it. 

Plus...it's HOT HOT HOT!!! 

My rhythm is no where to be found today or anywhere this week for that matter. Needless to say, our home is not exactly peaceful at this very moment. But...I remind myself that things could be very worse and that all of this, every last bit of it, is for. a. reason. So I "fix my eyes on Jesus." Hebrews 12:2 

Things I'm learning from this:

• keeping my heart on the Lord is the one and only way that I am able to refocus during rough times.
• feeling sorry for myself is a waste of time and energy.
• your source of faith and hope becomes more evident when the road gets rocky. 

Things I'm grateful for:

• my healthy babies--all three of them.
• friendly neighbors
• peanut butter and jelly
• a husband that thinks I'm fun *sigh*
• morning quiet time
• warm coffee
• cheap entertainment
• a supportive family

Things may be super chaotic right now but in the midst of it all we find gratitude for the things that remain steady.

 "The Lord will guide you always." Isaiah 58:11

Thank you, Lord, for your immense strength, your faith in my doings, and always always...unconditional love; for without you, my house would crumble to pieces.
