Heavens to Betsy

This weekend went by too fast. Monday always throws me off track and you'd think I'd be used to kicking up my heels and saying Hoo-Rah Monday.....but that is simply not the case...EVER!!!

Last week I did absolutely no housework. None. Ok, I think I washed one load of laundry but only because I was afraid the stains would stick. Other than that, the rest of the house is a disaster.  My cleaning list is long and detailed, spread out of course through out the week if not carrying over to the next. I've got the fridge to clean out and sanitize. Sheets and towles to be exchanged. Clutter to be sorted and put back in its home. Activities and playdates with the Littles. And a lot of other mumbojumbo. But, its doable. Thanks to a newly found water leak, the laundry is going to have to wait until Mr. Plumber makes it out to the house for a check-up. This also means that all nursery plans are on stand-by. Oh the joys of being a home owner.

Pretty gross huh?
Despite this little set back, I wrote out a few goals for myself this week so I can keep from wandering like a lost puppy in the house. Ready?

- One on one time with the girls
- Work on routine cards
- Read the Noah bible story to the girls each morning.
**they are really into animals and Noah right now**

- Start on their Mom-Daughter book
- Pick up my book and read for my personal time
- Put corn up to freeze
- Attempt a light workout: arms and walking
- Clear desktop of paper clutter
- File/shred receipts
- Finish budget ** almost done**
- Follow meal menu
- Call Dr's office
- Tackle some cleaning **baby-steps**
- Family time
We'll see how I do.

Feeding the chickens popcorn
I made myself sit down on Friday and plan out the menu for the next two weeks so I could mosy out Saturday for groceries. I set a goal of $100 for groceries because *my pantry is overflowing still!!* of how well my pantry is stocked and came back only $20 over. I thought the menu would keep me in line, but that's not so bad. Here's our menu for the week **I'll share next week's list with you next week**:

Sunday - Chicken Salads
Monday - Mexican Chicken, corn on the cob
Tuesday - Pork Roast, carrots, pasta salad
Wednesday - Hamburgers/Hotdogs, homefries
Thursday Spaghetti, fresh bread
Friday Garlic Herb Beef Kabobs and grilled veggies
Saturday - Steak Fajitas, salads

**After I came home and started putting food away, I realized stuff I had that I could have planned to use instead of buying more stuff. Maybe that pantry list needs to be reviewed. Hmm.**

Look at those faces...do ya think they love a Popsicle or what???

With the fourth falling in the middle of the week, we decided to do a traditional summer holiday meal...burgers! Mmm...mm! I just happen to pick up some some provolone cheese *my favorite!* to top it off because it was on sale this week..yay!! Hello cheese!!!!

AND----I have finally gotten the hang of making the perfect hamburger. Its the perfect portion for us here. With all the fixins and the perfect size burger, it's a top notch contender for the best burger in the world. *Said with my superhero echo.* Ok, maybe that's the baby talking but nothing beats a fresh charbroiled cheeseburger with caramelized onions and jalapeno peppers, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles.
Oh heavens to Betsy!!

Hubby has Wednesday and Thursday off so we plan to soak up some sun and hopefully enjoy some non-100 temps.

I see watermelon, ice cream cones, sprinklers and the pool, and a lot of other outside fun. Last year I made an awesome dessert but I think we'll keep it simple this year with things the girls definitely enjoy and watermelon is definitely that!!

What are your plans for the holiday?

Have a great rest of week and a great 4th of July. It's just me and the kiddos this year so we're not doing much at all :)
