Reconnecting

Some times I just need to reconnect with myself. Where we live, it's not always possible to do so. Not many places that bring peace like when I was younger. But, when I woke up on Friday morning, I just knew we needed to get out and try...even with 3 kiddos in tow. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I don't have to feel trapped at home just because I have 3 little ones. We can still have fun, explore, and be adventurous. I knew that if we all got out in the cool air and re-energize ourselves and we would ALL feel great.

So, I packed everyone up and off we wandered down those desired back roads. Round the curves, under the age old oaks, down the dirt road. We talked about the farms we passed by, about the cows and streams, the gardens and tractors. The conversation was busy and exciting. Bee City turned out to be our final destination. One of our favorite spots.

A random idea.
A random trip.
Random fun.
I'm learning this more and more.
To be random that is.
They had so much fun.
I had so much fun.
WE had so much fun.

We got home and we were all so tired. Baby girl was cranky and needy, but the 3 of us worked together and we gobbled up some banana sandwiches and together we got ready for naps. The morning was so rewarding.

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I believe Him. I know His words are true. He allows me the strength to be the mother I strive to be. He provides opportunities for me to be spontaneous  fun, happy and firm, uplifting and supportive. It's important to me to be there fully for my girls. Even on my cloudiest days. Little outings like this give me the "oomph" to keep on. To reconnect.
