Super Cheap Harvest Sign

Trying to come up with some super cheap seasonal decor is sometimes trickier than you expect. Even a trip to the Dollar Tree where everything is..you guessed it...a dollar, can add up before you realize it.
Remember these doors from my wonderful bathroom redo?

I've had a problem trying to decide what and where I'm wanting to use these great pieces. Well, I figured it out finally and I am so happy with the result.

Two coats of paint and this is my starting point. My blank canvas.

I found this paper in my scrapbook stash and thought that it would be perfect for this time of year. I fell in love with the orange and the whimsical design.

I measured the inside panel and cut the paper to fit. In order to be able to reuse this for the other holidays later in the year, I used double sided tape to attach the paper. SOOOO happy I thought of it too.

I found these little accents at the Dollar Tree a long time ago. For some reason I felt like I needed several of them...so into the stash of goodies they went. They would work perfect to cover up the holes from the handles.

I layered some other fabric and burlap behind the bottom ones and with some sticky tac like I used here, I stuck them to the door. Why sticky tac? Simple really, so I can re-use the door.

Here's a picture of them up close. Nothing fancy really.

I knew the panel needed something extra and figured my poor girls cricut was the answer to the problem. With the following letters, H-A-R-V-E-S-T and

a little mod podge...

I ended up with this.

This took me all but an hour to make. Quick and easy. Pretty and simple. Oh yeah...and cheap too!! I am in love with the sign and am already thinking about how I'm going to work up a Christmas theme for it. Roll mind roll!!!

HAPPY HARVEST YALL!!!!!!!

  2. Hi Kristen! Thanks for your comment on my girls room! I really appreciate it! Oh, and I had told about the frames and white thing and other details in previous posts. The white "sun" is from Hobby Lobby. I got it on clearance for $3! : ) The oval frames are from my Mom. They are old and she has had them forever. I was lucky that she was not using them and passed them on to me! : )

    Have a great day!

  4. I love it! I was going to ask you about it when I saw the picture of your living room and I forgot. I wish I was that creative!

BTW. I made a couple of your recipes. The chicken from not to long ago and also the artichoke dip. Love them! My hubby is always asking for "football treats" on Sundays and the dip was perfect. Thx! Next Sunday I'm thinking we'll try the pizza.
