Solitude

The air is light and cool. There's nothing around him but the sweet smell of nature. He sits up high in the tree waiting for a moment of victory. For that perfect buck to mosey across his path. He goes out alone several times with full hopes that he'll get "that" deer, but victory never quite prevails. So he sits in solitude. Nice, uninterrupted solitude. Away from all the routine doings and chaotic what-nots that come with the day to day. He sits alone

The room is small and quiet. She sits on the side of an empty tub. Face rested ever so gently in her hands. Eyes closed for what seems a brief second. The world right outside her door like a spinning whirlwind ready to snatch her back up and carry her away in its path. But in here she sits in solitude. Uninterrupted for the moment. Away from the running brook of fussing and "learning to be sisterly" acts that seem to be occurring right on the other side. Away from the thousand requests of goldfish, juice boxes and "pwetzools." She sits alone.

Solitude is enjoyable. Its a grand adventure if you ask me.  An act that isn't too repetitious for the stage of life I'm in or location for that matter. My days, completely unraveled, would resemble each other almost to a T. We routine quite nicely around here and anything other than that seems to throw us off and leave us to picking up tears and frustration. More so on my end of the train. That's just how it is.

So solitude? I've got it tucked away for quick moments. Fragments of my day where I can kneel and pray for God to give me the strength to go back out there and get back in the game. To tackle those tempers and shape those hearts that cry out the only way they know how.

And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while...”
Mark 6:31

Solitude can wait till my next potty break  That is unless the little fingers and voices follow my demise.

Solitude
How do you find it if you can?

  1. I think only a mother can understand how precious a moment alone is, or better yet going potty or taking a shower uninterrupted, lol. I only have one 3 year old and she tests her limits constantly, I can only imagine having 2. My prayers are constantly, help me handle this right and with the right attitude.
