ellie lee turns one

my sweet ellie lee turned one on wednesday
this past year she has developed into her own little person
full of spunk and character all her own.

her day was fun and silly
we didn't do a big party as it is just the 5 us here to celebrate
but i didn't let that hold me back from a little snazz
and apparently this Moma can't spell birthday

i pulled out my collection of hankies and put them on display.
a few target plates, jars, and tin buckets all ready for cupcakes
and the star treat

i really wanted a banner from here but i procrastinated
so this banner is from target.
it was 4.99
a little more colorful than i wanted, but it worked

the big sisters helped with the sweets
strawberry cupcakes with purple icing and sprinkles
all to make her feel special
really though...pink and purple...the twins' favorite colors
i think they did a pretty good job

we let ellie open her presents before we ate
she was ready to rattle that paper

after about 5 minutes of opening her presents, she was ready to eat
her favorite meal...spaghetti
it was all over the place so it made a great precursor to purple icing everywhere

she loved it just a little bit

the celebration was small, but the change she's brought to our lives is bigger than she'll ever know
sweet ellie lee
happy birthday my love
i'm so grateful He gave me you

  1. Aww, so precious! So glad you guys had a fun day celebrating. Sounds a lot like our birthday celebrations - sweet and simple, yet so special! Did she get a "quiet" book? Did you make it or find it somewhere?
