The Not-So-Perfect-Plans

We had big plans made for this weekend. Three days of camping.  A perfect little spot reserved up in Oconee County, SC. The weather forecast was perfect...a cold front, cool morning, beautiful afternoon type of perfect. The truck was packed. The girls were roaring and ready. Then everything went south just when we thought everything was going well. Our dog, Hank, got extremely sick and put a huge wrench in our "perfect" plans.

So, instead of waking up in the morning to the brisk low mountain air, we woke up to our usual. Instead of pancakes and bacon on our picnic table, we sat and ate them in our usual spots.

It would be easy to be disgruntled about it. To be upset that we lost money on our reservation, but we are just so happy that our little man is on the mends. He's still at the vet today receiving more fluids. He should be back to his self by Monday.

We made the best of our weekend and our not-so-perfect plans. We enjoyed some camp-style meals here at home, a few late night fires and marshmallows in the backyard, and played in the sprinkler and blow-up pool and little longer than usual. Most importantly, we enjoyed some extra cuddles with our Hank man.

But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more Psalm 71:14
