So...here I go.

If you didn't already know, I used to be in the Air Force . I joined back in 2006 and separated in 2009. I joined for reasons that now I can appreciate because of where I'm at in my life. God has a season for everything.
I used to despise the fact that I ended up joining. I would spend my time trying to figure out how to get out so I could go home; but that's a string that I've let go.
I was stationed at Barksdale AFB in Louisiana and worked in the chow hall that served majority of the dormers. It was a rule at Barksdale that if you weren't married or a single parent, you had to live in the dorms until you made rank as a Senior Airman ( I lived there too)
Working at the chow hall gave me the opportunity to meet a lot of new people and make a lot of new friends.
THIS is where I met him. Mike that is. He worked mid-shift so he came in at 7 a.m. after work to eat breakfast before heading off to sleep. He was never too talkative, but because I was a morning person, I usually got him to talk to me.

I ended up deploying 6 months after getting to Barksdale so I never had the opportunity to hang out with Mike. However, when I got back, I made sure that I  "re-introduced" myself to him. It was around Superbowl time when I got back to the states. This was the first time we hung out...Superbowl.
Needless to say, we've pretty much been inseparable since then. I know it's kind of hard to believe, but it's so true. It even amazed us when we look back on our time together (which we do quite often *smile*)

We married last year, April 4th .

It's hard to believe that I used to hate the idea of being in the military. Now I'm out, but my heart is still in. He's my world now...where ever the Air Force might send us, when ever he might deploy, and how ever long he decides to stay in...He is my heart.

Head over to Wives of Faith to meet more Military Wives. It's so nice to meet others that share your trials and experiences.
