Memorial Day Weekend

It's amazing what a weekend of calm and slow paced will do to you. Four days with my husband is like fuel to my soul. He has no clue exactly how much his presence here during the day-to-day helps me to putter along like I really want to.

Our Memorial Day weekend was true Barrett style. Laid back, relaxed yet slam packed of fun and excitement. I woke up today feeling so much better and ready to pick up the pieces that have somehow crumbled around me the past 2 weeks. That's what a view like that will do to ya...oh and of course sitting back and actually relaxing as you should.

We made our first trip to the beach for the year. Back to our favorite spot on Kiawah Island to enjoy the nothingness of it's surroundings. No shops. No buzzing cars. No busy busy crowds. Just the beach as we like it most. The girls played with their Daddy in the sand while I sat back and took a breather. Look at the difference in a year. Tear!

My flip flop tan needed some work and watching my family play together and enjoy something so amazing and full of relaxing vibes is pure joy for me. 

The rest of our weekend stayed low key. Sit back and relax style, especially this Moma and baby.

 A few errands for odds and ends. 

A new pasta salad (recipe coming soon!)

Hamburgers and hot dogs. 

Watermelon.  

Flowers blooming.

Rain showers from the tropical storm.

And another family night out at Steel City Pizza.
