6/30 Weekend and Fitness Plan

I'm really loving our Summer so far. It's rained a bit more than I thought it would and the humidity can be a downer at times, but it's been pretty great thus far. Our weekend has been pretty low key. The girls' allergies flared up Friday night so the noses started running immediately. As did the I'm-cranky-and-don't-feel-good-tears. Not a lovely way to begin the weekend, but I'll take snuggles any day of the week. I'm sure any Mom would agree with me on that note.

We hung out here at the house and had popsicles and vitamin C packed fruit. All the key things to pump up those immune systems.  I don't know how, but we managed no fevers. Something completely out of the ordinary for my girls.

I snuck in a quick workout while the Mr mowed the front yard and when he finished I  took over the back. Getting that heart rate up doesn't always involve the gym. Plus, I really do love to mow. I always have. Weird I know, but that's me. *smile*

Picked some goodies out of the garden. The basil is BLOWING up this year leaving plenty to dry and save for later in the year. Have you ever dried your own herbs? It's pretty neat if you ask me.

We got out of the house on Sunday and ran some errands. Enjoyed a browse around Target while sipping on a cold Mocha Frappucino Light with soy milk. Talk about yummy and refreshing. I was pinging afterwards, that's for sure!

We've got a busy week ahead of us. I've planned out my workouts for the days I can fit in the gym. I've also got a home workout to share later and am working on planning out snacks for the road. Here’s what I have on my fitness menu for the week:
Sunday: cardio and legs
Monday: Zumba and arms

Tuesday: Bosu and back
Wednesday: OFF
Thursday: Mountain walk & Fourth of July Star Workout that will post Tuesday.
Friday: Mountain walk and At Home Ab-Workout that I will share later on.
Saturday: Mountain walk
For our meals, we'll be eating a lot of grilled veggies, chicken, salads, and other lean protein type meals. For breakfasts, I'll be sticking to a simple oats and fruit. Simple snacks in between. When we get back from our adventures, I'll share some of my healthier go-to snacks. I'm excited for the week.
Here are some foodie pictures from this weekend:
Protein Filled Salad
Sweet potato, black bean and grilled chicken wrap

Cereal bars for the girls

What are your workout and menu plans? Remember, to set your self up for success, plan it out. A workout plan and menu plan. This will help remind you of your goals and motivate you to reach for them. Prep your fruit, chop your veggies, cook extra protein so that you have options. Stay on track.

Have a great week!!!

Hugs!

  2. Thanks for sharing this - it's such a solid reminder to me that planning will be such a big help to me! I'm good about planning ahead on dinners for the week, but not always thinking through lunches - so my goal this week is to make a plan for healthy, easy lunches so I won't be scrambling. And I did my first day of the 30 day shred today - I am excited to get back into a consistent workout groove!
