Thoughts of Spring {Blog Party}

I got so excited when I read Lynette's blog today. She is hosting a blog party just in time for one of my favorite times of year...
If you're new here, here's a little bit about me.

 I'm Kristen.
Yep, that's me!

I'm a new mom to twin girls that have soaked my heart with the craziest love that no one will be able to ever understand.

Savannah and Hope
My husband Mike is so incredibly wonderful...I thank the Lord everyday for putting him in my life. We've been married 2 years this April 4th.

If you're not new, I'm sorry. Don't you want the new friends to be aware of my crazy life before they start? Ok...So onto the party huh?

I LOVE parties like this. It nice to see the other side of a blogger now and then.

How would people describe your personality? (If they could only use ONE word.) Are they right?
{{Fun Loving. I always try to find the fun in any situation...it's me. *BIG smile*}}

What celebrity/celebrities would create a “Star-Struck” feeling if you saw them in real life?
{{Alan Jackson has always been that one person that you would see me swoon over. He's real and authentic...and makes me think of my Granddaddy.}}

Who is your favorite blogger? Why?
{{I honestly don't have one particular favorite. I just enjoy reading blogs that I can connect with or that inspire me to re-create something.}}

What is your comfort food/drink?
{{Comfort food usually leads to words like Macaroni and Cheese, Mashed Potatoes and gravy, or chicken and dumplings...but for me I drive towards the freezer aisle. Give me a good strawberry milk shake and hot seasoned fries and I"m good to go.}}

Be brave – tell us something very random and weird about yourself.
{{I don't know how to wear eyeshadow. *pout face* Instead of learning when I was younger, I was out playing in the mud and chasing the cows around the pasture.  }}

Do you have a strong desire to do something you’ve never done? What is it?
{{I have always wanted to support a cause. Kristen from We Are That Family is doing amazing works and I just wish I had the guts to dive in and help like she and her family are.}}

Movies: Action, Drama, Romantic Comedy, Documentary, Comedy? What are your favorite genres?
{{I'm a sucker for a good romance story; whether it's a young love like Dear John or a classic like Dirty Dancing. But, you'll also find me cheering for Bumble Bee in Transformers ok...Blind Side was awesome too! And when I'm feeling lost after paying my bills or just down because things aren't going the way I think they should, I play Facing the Giants. It'll lead me back to where I need to be...}}

Books: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Romance, Biographies, True Stories, Self-Help, Devotional/Study? What are your favorite types of reading material?
{{Well, my book  collection looks like this right now...*smile*}}

Music: Funk, Rock, Country, Jazz, Classical, Film Score, Blues, Classic Rock, Crooner, Alternative, Heavy Metal, Techno? What are your favorite types?
{{My presets in my truck have Christian and country on there. Not because I'm closed minded, but because I'm not really in the car that much. I'll listen to anything really as long as it's clean. As a Christian, I try to watch what I listen to. It's up to me to keep the fog from clouding my heart.}}

If you inherited a million dollars, what is the first thing you would do with your money?
{{It sounds like a lot of money until your start thinking of how to use it all....then it's spent before you realize it and it doesn't feel like that much anymore. My church at home could seriously use a healthy donation to their New Building Fund. My parents could use some financial relief...they've been "ok" for too long. I would like them to be great for a moment. You know?}}

Name one weakness of yours (confession is good for the soul).
{{I am lazyy. There I said it!}}

If you could live anywhere at all (and take all your loved ones with you), where would you go?
{{I have always loved the mountains...Blue Ridges, Appalachians that is. A place where a home grown Florida girl can see all 4 seasons instead of just one and constantly be reminded daily on how amazing God is.}}
Strange Talent? Can you juggle basketballs, put your legs behind your head or perform some other strange feat?
{{My family calls me Monkey Toes because I have always picked stuff up  with my feet. Oh...dropped a sock and my hands are full...no worries. Funny thing...my girls are starting to do this too. Make a Moma proud!}}
What’s something you consider yourself to be good at? (Don’t worry, it’s not bragging, it’s acknowledging a God given gift).
{{I'm no Faith Hill or Nicole Nordeman, but I can definitely carry a tune. I just pray my girls can as well.}}
What is one of your favorite things to catch a whiff of?
{{Those first moments after a fresh rain fall...the air is clean and filtered. Awhhh!}}

When you leave a social gathering, do you wish: You would have talked more or You would have talked less?
{{I'm a listener. I only speak up when I'm asked or if I truly have something worth offering to the table}}
If money wasn’t a factor, what stores would you shop in?
{{I would probably be found in the exact same stores I shop in now.}}
What is your greatest fear or strange phobia?
{{I inherited my Daddy's fear of tight spaces. Thanks Daddy!}}

What is your greatest accomplishment?
{{Awh, did you see those angels up top? I was created by God solely to be the mother of those little girls...everything else falls second}}

What are your favorite animals?
{{Moo cows...they're just adorable. I have always loved them. And since we're on the subject...our family cow "Moma-cow" (yes that's her name) is slowly getting worse. Daddy said she's skin and bones. She's a pet yall...she will be missed. }}
Are you a hopeless romantic?
{{Before I met my husband, yes I was. But when I met him, he brought back my hope and the romance just followed. We have an amazing love language.}}

So there are my answers to some pretty good questions. I hope you enjoyed your reading as much as I enjoy looking out my window at this amazing sight...gorgeous huh?

  4. Enjoyed "meeting" you. Eventhough I am much older, we have a lot in common. Love the look of your blog, too.

    I am sorry to hear about Moma Cow. I completely understand... we just lost our almost 10 yr. old, Abby (schnauzer). It is one of the hardest things I have been through!

  5. Very nice to read and meet you. Cute twins. Sorry about the eye shadow. Don't worry. I am so not a girly girl either. Though I have a feeling my daughter will be since she lives in a house full of boys!
